Bill Besley is a partner and shareholder in litigation with principal areas of concentration in premises liability, school district defense, construction litigation, products liability, and automobile accident defense. Born in College Park, Maryland, he was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 1989. He is a graduate of Presbyterian College (B.S., Magna Cum Laude, 1986) and the University of South Carolina School of Law (J.D., 1989). Bill was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Blue Key National Honor Fraternity, Sigma Kappa Alpha, and Delta Theta Phi. While at Presbyterian College, he was an All-American in tennis and was a two-time Academic All-American.
Bill is currently a member of the Richland County Bar Association, the South Carolina Bar, and on the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association. He is a Permanent Member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference and has been named one of the top attorneys in South Carolina by South Carolina Super Lawyers for 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
Bill is a past member of the P.C. Board of Visitors and recently served as an Adjunct Professor, teaching a civil trial practicum course at Presbyterian College.
Bill has handled cases and injuries involving a variety of topics and issues, including, but not limited to: gas explosions; elevators; forklifts; pressure cookers; clothing fires; plant machinery amputations; stairs; speed bumps; parking lots; sports and athletics injuries; food products; and electrical shocks.
