NEGLIGENCE ACTIONS AND INSURANCE COVERAGE
The Attorneys at HN&B render opinions, participate in declaratory judgment actions, and defend companies based upon various coverage issues in personal and commercial property and casualty insurance. The Firm is significantly involved in the representation of insurance companies and is designed to provide defense to insureds in various types of tort actions, including:

PRODUCTS LIABILITY
HN&B represents both insurers and corporate clients in the field of products liability. Cases in this area have involved claims for personal injury and property damage resulting from alleged product manufacturing and design defects. The Firm also represents manufacturers in failure to warn and defective labeling cases. The Firm regularly represents clients in both industrial and personal products liability matters. Past cases have included personal care products, household items, various items under the Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act, and industrial parts and machinery.
LEGAL AND OTHER PROFESSIONAL MALPRACTICE
The Firm regularly represents clients for claims arising out of alleged professional negligence. HN&B is particularly involved in the representation of accountants, attorneys, engineers and architects. The Firm has represented both state and regional firms and has extensive experience in preparation and negotiation of contracts for many architectural and engineering firms.
APPELLATE PRACTICE
The Firm handles cases on appeal in the state and federal appellate courts. While these cases include appeals of litigation handled by various members of the Firm, they also may include appeals handled by other trial attorneys who have associated the Firm on appeal. The Firm's state-of-the-art computer technology resources provide invaluable legal research for appellate practice.
WORKERS' COMPENSATION
The Firm represents workers' compensation insurers, as well as self-insured employers, self-insured groups, third-party administrators, and servicing agents before the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Commission. Attorneys in workers’ compensation also provide litigation cost and risk management counseling. Practicing exclusively in the area of workers’ compensation, our attorneys also provide legal services related to subrogation and reimbursement under the Second Injury Fund.
